A second set of eyes is helpful for any writer to find errors or aid in consistency and tone. Whatever you are writing, I can be your second set of supportive, scrutinizing eyes. It’s not my intention or desire to change the meaning behind your message; I only wish to help you express it as clearly as possible.

• Line Editing starting at $46/hour (about $0.04 per word).
  • Sentence and paragraph structure, clarity, consistency, word usage or overuse, overall flow, and readability.
• Copy Editing starting at $41/hour (about $0.03 per word).
  • Grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, correct word choice, sentence structure, hyphenation, number and numeral usage, abbreviation and acronym usage.
• Proofreading starting at $0.02 per word.
  • The final step! Typos, punctuation, and spelling only.
• Formatting starting at $46/hour (about $0.03 per word).
• Research/Fact Checking starting at $46/hour.
• Rush jobs are dependent on availability and will incur an additional fee. 

These are starting rates based on current proofreading and editing industry standards. Final rates are to be determined upon review and scope of the project.

The current version of MS Word will be used for editing and proofreading. I’m also happy to work with PDF and InDesign files. Your style guide will be followed, however, if a style guide isn’t specified, Chicago Manual of Style is used by default.
